Mr. Bryson teaches World History, AP World History, and AP Psychology. He has been a classroom teacher since 2006, with experience teaching both locally and overseas. Mr. Bryson has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Florida, as well as a Juris Doctorate degree from Florida Coastal School of Law.  He has a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in Social Science Grades 6-12. Mr. Bryson currently teaches social studies courses at a high school in Tampa and has been named Hillsborough County Social Studies Teacher of the Year.

Mr. Alvarez teaches elementary school math, middle school math, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Liberal Arts Math, Math for College Readiness, Advanced Topics, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, SAT Math, ACT Math, and ACT Science.  He has been teaching mathematics since 2004. Mr. Alvarez has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering from the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Havana, as well as a Masters of Public Affairs from The University of Texas.  He has a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in Mathematics Grades 6-12 and Physics Grades 6-12.  Mr. Alvarez currently teaches math courses at a high school in Tampa.

Ms. Mousseau teaches social studies courses, including AP US History, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Microeconomics. She has both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts degree in Social Studies Education from the University of South Florida. Ms. Mousseau has been a social studies teacher since 1999 and has a Social Studies Grades 6-12 Florida Teaching Certificate. She is a member of the Global Schools Project at the Dr. Kiran C. Patel Center for Global Solutions at the University of South Florida. Ms. Mousseau has been a presenter at both the Florida Council for Social Studies and the National Council for Social Studies conferences. She is also an AP grader for APUSH and teaches at an IB high school in Tampa.

Mr. Williams teaches Physics, AP Physics, and all levels of mathematics. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics with a minor in Pure and Applied Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Southampton, U.K. Mr. Williams has over 20 years’ experience teaching students in mathematics and science in England, the Middle East, and the United States. He is currently a math and science teacher at a private school in South Tampa

Ms. Oben teaches many social science courses, including AP European History, AP World History and AP Psychology. She has been a teacher since 2014. Ms. Oben has a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science with a minor in Education and also a Masters of Education in Secondary Social Studies Education from the University of Florida. She has a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in Social Science Grades 6-12, as well as English Grades 6-12. Ms. Oben is currently teaching at a high school in Georgia.

Ellen Armstrong is the owner and operator of Armstrong Tutoring. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida. Mrs. Armstrong held a Florida Teaching Certificate in Mathematics Grades 6-12, Mathematics Grades 5-9, Elementary Education Grades 1-6, and Gifted Endorsement. She has 7 years of experience as a classroom mathematics teacher in South Tampa, 5 years of experience as an education consultant, and over 12 years of experience as a tutor. As an education consultant, she has mentored dozens of classroom teachers, designed and presented numerous in-service workshops for educators, and created curriculum and assessments used in the school system. Mrs. Armstrong’s familiarity with all aspects of education is what allows her to evaluate and recruit the most qualified and effective teachers.

Ellen Armstrong, Owner 

Ms. Acton teaches middle school math, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, and SAT/ACT Math prep. She has been a math teacher since 2001, with experience teaching both high school and college level. Ms. Acton has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics, a Master of Science in Mathematics Education, and a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language. Along with experience as an AP calc scorer, Ms. Acton is a National Board Certified Teacher and has a Professional Teaching Certificate in Secondary Mathematics Grades 6-12 and ESOL K-12. She is currently teaching math courses at three universities.

Mr. Owen teaches Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Biology, and AP Biology. He has been a science teacher since 2011. Mr. Owen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. He has a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in Chemistry Grades 6-12, Biology Grades 6-12, and Physics Grades 6-12.  Mr. Owen currently teaches science courses in a high school in Tampa.

Ms. Kendig teaches middle school science, Biology, Marine Science, AP Biology, and AP Environmental Science. She has been a classroom teacher since 2007. Ms. Kendig has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Masters in Teaching in Secondary Science Education. She has a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in General Science Grades 5-9 and Biology Grades 6-12. Ms. Kendig currently teaches science at a private high school in St. Petersburg.

Mrs. Smith currently teaches science courses at a high school in Tampa.

​Mrs. Bowden Montero teaches reading, writing, and all language arts courses, including AP Language and Composition. She is also one of our PSAT, SAT and ACT prep tutors. Mrs. Bowden Montero has over 35 years of experience teaching all levels of English, as well as speech, reading, and college test prep courses. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education and a Master of Arts degree in Exceptional Child Education of the Gifted from the University of South Florida. Mrs. Bowden Montero holds a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in English Grades 6-12, and also holds endorsements in gifted education and English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). She has been named Teacher of the Year at both Hillsborough High School and USF, and has also earned a National Board Teacher Certification in Adolescent and Young Adult Language Arts. Some of her other accomplishments include being a College Board reader/scorer for the AP English Language and Composition exam, a mentor for National Board Certification candidates, a facilitator/presenter at numerous local and state level educational workshops for teachers, a writer for AP Language curriculum, and a supervisor/mentor of many interns and beginning teachers.

Mr. Haughey teaches Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Math Analysis, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Probability & Statistics, and AP Calculus.  He has 5 years of experience tutoring and 3 years of teaching experience as a graduate student.  Mr. Haughey has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Haughey recently retired from a career in information technology and is thrilled to be helping students both in South Tampa and online.

Mr. Ferguson teaches Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Math Analysis, Pre-Calculus, and AP Statistics. He has been a high school math teacher since 2006. Mr. Ferguson has a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics with a minor in Math from the University of North Florida, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Florida, and is currently working toward a Ph.D. in Measurement and Evaluation.  He has a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in Mathematics Grade 6-12 and currently works at the University of South Florida.

Mr. Wengertsman is one of our Study Skills teachers. For weekly study skills sessions, he teaches students organizational skills, listening & note-taking skills, effective academic reading, test-taking strategies, time management and study skills, including how to study for each type of assessment. His goal is for each student to develop the skills necessary to become responsible, independent, self-sufficient learners. Mr. Wengertsman has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction. He has a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in English Grades 6-12, as well as ESOL and Gifted endorsements.  Mr. Wengertsman has been a classroom teacher since 2006 and is currently teaching at a charter school in Tampa.

Ms. Ragsdale has been a high school teacher since 2003 and a tutor since 2007. She has taught American Government, Sociology, Psychology, AP Psychology, and AP Human Geography. Ms. Ragsdale attended the University of South Florida where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Science Secondary Education and also a Master of Education in Social Science Secondary Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction. She holds a Social Science Grades 6-12 Florida Teaching Certificate.

Ms. Keller has been teaching elementary school for over 20 years. She earned her elementary teaching credential at California State University and has a BA in Psychology with an emphasis in Child Psychology. She is an ESE (Exceptional Student Education) and MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support) specialist, has mentored teachers and attended numerous diverse Master’s classes. Ms. Keller is proficient in many elementary curriculums and is an avid believer in Core Knowledge. She is passionate about encouraging students to learn based on their learning style, elevating their confidence, and inspiring students to reach their full potential.

Mrs. Ruiz teaches all levels of Spanish, including AP Spanish. She has been a high school Spanish teacher since 2005. Mrs. Ruiz has a Bachelors degree in Architecture, a Masters degree in Urban Design, and a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics for Teaching Spanish as a Second Language. She has a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in Spanish Grades 6-12.  Mrs. Ruiz currently teaches Spanish at a high school in Tampa.  She also works as a national grader for the AP Spanish exam.

Mrs. Lang has a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and Masters in Science in Curriculum, Instruction, & Technology. Originally certified and teaching in Tampa, Florida, she now has a Colorado Professional Teaching Certificate in Secondary Mathematics Grades 6-12. Mrs. Lang currently teaches math at a public high school in Colorado.

Ms. Liccio teaches middle school math, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Liberal Arts Math, and Math for College Readiness.  She has over 10 years experience as a math tutor, 13 years experience as a math teacher, and over 17 years of experience in Administration. Ms. Liccio has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Education and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership both from the University of South Florida. She also has an Educational Leadership and Mathematics Grades 6-12 Florida Teaching Certificate.

Mr. Falbo teaches middle school math, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Math for College Readiness.   He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from the University of South Florida and a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Florida. Mr. Falbo has a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in Mathematics Grades 6-12 and currently teaches math courses at a high school in Hillsborough County. When he's not teaching or tutoring, Mr. Falbo is either coaching or playing hockey.
